NhIMD: Normal Human Intestinal Myofibroblasts Duodenum

Isolated from whole adult human intestines that are suitable for transplantation. The Myofibroblasts are isolated from the Duodenum.

The cell composition consists of a heterogeneous population of myofibroblasts distinctly from the above region and the cells are tested for viability, morphology, and attachment efficiency (by Crystal Violet). Myofibroblasts are characterized by immunofluorescent staining positive for alpha-smooth muscle actin and negative for desmin.

Upon receipt, immediately transfer each cryovial into the vapor phase of a liquid nitrogen (LN2) storage Dewar. Cryopreserved human intestinal cells are viable for one year when stored under these conditions.

Quality Control Testing

Donor Information Includes:
Age, sex, race, diabetic status, smoking history, alcohol use, and any co-morbidities.

Serology results include (positive or negative):
Negative: CMV, EBV HBV, HCV, HIV‐1, HIV‐2.
Potentially HLTV‐1 and HLTV‐2 (if performed).

Culture results include:
Negative: Bacteria, Yeast, Mycoplasma and
Fungi

Application

Novabiosis primary human intestinal myofibroblasts can be used for toxicology pertaining to oral medications, toxicity, drug screening, absorption studies, and gene expression among other uses.

CULTURES HAVE A LIMITED LIFESPAN IN VITRO.
